This was certainly, for us, one of the most boring of all over-hyped movies that we've ever seen. A waste of fine actors.

We tried, we really tried to watch this as we knew the ridiculous beginning was a set up for what was to follow. But we just couldn't get through the ridiculous beginning to the good parts. Never finished it.

A beautiful movie, to watch, to hear. The performances were phenomenal! But, the entire era from the late 30's to late 40's was missing. Wasn't the war era especially influential for her, her fans? Not one mention of her acting career. Still, so very worth watching.

Travolta's finest hour...I don't care what serious movies he's done. This is heartwarming, uplifting, and the music is terrific. He even dances. What is so fabulous about this movie is that no matter how bummed I may be, I pop this in the player and start smiling from the minute it begins. And every single character in it is super at their role, including the dog, but especially Jean Stapleton.

Oh, I absolutely love this movie, and never tire of re-watching it. The four characters are played by some of my favorite actors, and they fulfill their roles to perfection. Great plot, but what makes it is that it is a character-driven tale, and we can so easily get into their skins. The bayou setting is alive, it almost crackles in the background.

This is the first animated film in years that was a real struggle to almost finish. Note the "almost finish." We love these things, but there was just something missing from this one. Even the kids were ho-hum.

Great historical movie, one with enough action, plot, and great actors that you could really learn something while being entertained. Of course, as with all Hollywood Historicals, take the history with the knowledge it is plumped up, romanticized, and made to fit.

Tae Guk Gi - The Brotherhood of War
Tae Guk Gi - The Brotherhood of War (2005)
Actors: Dong-gun Jang, Bin Won, Eun-ju Lee
Release Year: 2005

A painful, but beautifully performed story of the Korean War, without the Americans. It is the tale of two brothers, one strong, outgoing, but uneducated, the other a shy intellectual as they are brought close, then divided by the conflict. Reminiscent of the American Civil war with brother fighting brother, killing neighbor, it is tragic, heart-wrenching. You can't ever forget it. I recommend you watch it with subtitles rather than dubbed.

We loved this movie, enough to look for more Isreali tales. Sweet, funny, tender. I recommend this one.

I hated this practice. Oh, they are all pretty much filmed in Jamaica, Hawaii, or some other place that is supposed to calm and inspire us. Bah! While her instruction is fine, and the poses are beautifully done, I am so sick to death of props. Once I saw her posing while standing in a tree, I got so turned off I gave my copy away. Stick to the ground, and stay out of the trees!
