"I loved this DVD More Yoga for the Rest of Us by Peggy Cappy. Her teaching style is so warm and generous and positive and
inclusive. She attracts those of us who need yoga the most, not just young
athletes that you find in most classes. She welcomes us older and stiffer
ones...it is a beautiful philosophy and I want to thank Peggy Cappy for
sharing her love of yoga and what it can do for everybody! I have both
DVD's (Yoga for the Rest of Us and More Yoga for the Rest of Us) and I do one of them every day...they have changed my life...I have
them memorized and never tire of them. I'm 48 years old and have done yoga
classes on and off for years...always knowing that there was something good
there for me, but always feeling I couldn't keep up or be flexible
enough...I would drop out feeling a failure each time.
Peggy Cappy and her work have been a blessing in my life and I want to thank
her from the bottom of my heart! Namaste, Diana Adoberavoski

"Being a huge fan of "Yoga for the Rest of Us," I was looking forward to getting the second DVD, but this second DVD largely left me cold. The stretching exercises are not as effective, in my view, and do not appear to work the entire body but focus primarily on the legs and lower back and almost not at all on the neck, shoulders, and arms/wrists. The standing poses are in some instances more challenging, but their explanation and demonstration were not as clear, practiced, or well-thought-out as in the first DVD - some of the students appeared to be doing the poses for the first time without a clear idea of what they were supposed to be doing, and in one instance a standing pose was performed while the camera zoomed in on one student's face (not the most helpful way to convey how to do the pose correctly, especially when the verbal explanation is unclear). The relaxation portion, while good, was not as effective for me as in the first DVD. It may be a matter of personal taste or a slightly different target audience for the second DVD versus the first, but I likely will not rely heavily on this DVD for yoga exercises and will return to the first one, which I believe is a much better production."
She's done it again!

"Once more, Peggy Cappy has endeavored to bring the practice and benefits of yoga to those of us who live with some degree of physical limitation that puts the postures of classical yoga out of reach (literally.) As a companion to "Yoga For the Rest of Us", this dvd offers examples and instructions that expand the practitioners' repetoire of postures, never failing to address the therapeutic mind/body/spirit benefits. Peggy Cappy has a marvellously gentle, yet powerful, way of engaging the viewer/practitioner and then clearly demonstrating each pose. She never fails to include adequate time for resting and meditation poses, a perfect balance to the more active poses. If you have purchased "Yoga For the Rest of Us," this is the perfect companion piece to round out your daily practice!"
Great Followup to Yoga for the Rest of Us

"Are you looking for gentle yoga DVD? Are you interested in beginning a yoga practice but hesitant about heading off to your local yoga studio? Are you under the misconception that yoga is only for the young, fit, and flexible?
More Yoga for the Rest of Us by Peggy Cappy is a DVD that can help. If you think you are too old, too out of shape, or not flexible enough to try yoga, the students in this DVD prove otherwise.
Cappy, a New Hampshire based yoga teacher with over 20 years experience offers gentle senior yoga classes where many of the participants are 70+. The DVD includes a "Meet Peggy Cappy" section that features shots of her classes and several interviews with her enthusiastic students who explain why they do yoga and all the benefits it provides.
Peggy explains that yoga can help everybody and anybody who does it feel better physically and mentally. It's an opinion I share so I am always on the lookout for DVDs that can deliver a yoga program that is accessible to the average person regardless of age or current fitness level.
More Yoga for the Rest of Us is a follow up to Cappy's original DVD, Yoga for the Rest of Us, and is divided into two 20 - 25 minute sections that can be performed separately or together - Floor Exercises and Standing Poses.
In More Yoga for the Rest of Us, Peggy Cappy leads 4 of her students of varying ages and abilities through the program in a calm, sincere, and nurturing way. The pacing is slow and controlled. Variations and modifications are demonstrated for most of the poses so that students of any level can participate safely.
The Floor Exercises section begins with breathing exercises to calm the body and steady the mind. It provides a good transition out of the busyness of your day, and into your yoga practice. Additional floor exercises include pelvic tilts, knee hugs, leg stretches and strengtheners, reclining pigeon pose to stretch the hips, reclining spinal twist for the back, reclining cobblers pose to stretch the inner thighs and several gentle bridge variations.
The Standing Poses section, is dedicated to standing poses that are designed to build leg strength and improve balance. The poses are all demonstrated with several modifications and variations to accommodate different levels of ability. Those who are less steady use a chair for support.
The DVD concludes with a few gentle compensation poses for your back and a nice long guided relaxation - the restorative reward for your earlier yoga practice.
I like that Cappy explains the benefits of the various poses and provides detailed alignment instructions to keep her students safe. I also like that these are real yoga students of varying ages and abilities, not models or yoga experts.
If you are looking for a gentle yoga DVD that can help you increase your flexibility, strength and balance, More Yoga for the Rest of Us is worth a closer look.
Highly Recommended"
I love you, Peggy Cappy!

"I'm a 30 year old who has never worked out, and now attempting to learn basic yoga. I've been reviewing many, many instructional DVDs from the library, and Peggy Cappy is among the most inspiring. I love the way Peggy calmly guides you through stretching, balance poses, and relaxation on this dvd. I also kind of love that three out of four of the "class members" are old people, and there's even this one man who can barely do any of it! She does a GREAT job of offering options for people with different levels of flexibility (but not in a condescending or annoying way).
I also liked her first 3-disc set, Yoga for the Rest of Us but only tried out one of the 3 dvds which is available separately ("Back Care Basics").
I just found the best quote about her: "In the town of Peterborough, New Hampshire, Peggy Cappy has 90-year-olds finding they have flexibility they never dreamed possible at their age." I love you, Peggy! I'm in awe that she can not only have a core of older folks doing crazy yoga poses, but she can keep a 30 year old entertained and learning well on the basics. BRAVO!
