Created by the same production team responsible for the hugely popular series Cheers, Wings has a similarly homey, familiar feel. Replacing the Boston bar is a small airport on Nantucket Island. The denizens of the bar are... more » replaced with pilots and airport personnel. What the viewers are left with is a delightful show revolving around Sandpiper Air Service, a tiny charter airline co-owned by two handsome, charming brothers, a rival airline, Aeromass, and a lunch counter run the brothers' life-long friend, Helen.« less

"Joe: Does the world have to revolve around your love life?
Brian: Wouldn't it be a magical place?
The addition of Alex, a perfect foil for Brian's noncommital character, infused terrific new storylines in this 3rd season...the episode that introduces her is just the perfect portrayal of how silly guys get when a pretty girl is in the picture. I am nuts about Joe, but boy does Brian steal this show, in the scenes at the gym where they're trying to outdo each other in trying to impress Alex.
Alex: (sarcastically, aware of what they're doing) You're in that machine wrong.
Brian: (a little haughtily): This is how they use it in Europe.
It somewhat scares me how easily watching ANY episode of "Wings" gets me to that "happy place," and helps me forget my troubles/stresses...but it's a lot cheaper than antidepressants!"
Best sitcom, but disks aren't

"Wings has been a favorite sitcom of mine since it first aired. I kept hoping for a long time to see it make it to DVD. I have the first three seasons and enjoy watching them. However, the picture is not very sharp or clear. I've got DVDs of movies made in the 70s that are better than this. And most disappointing of all, Disk 4 of the third season won't even play. My DVD player doesn't even recognize a disk being in the tray. I've cleaned the disk and checked the player. Player works fine with all other disks. Unfortunately I discovered that after the return period was expired. I doubt that I will buy anymore even though I loved the show. Hey people, make sure when buying a boxed set to check out every disk so a return can be made if necessary."
Best comedy of th 90's

"This was easily the best comedy on TV in the 90's and season 3 is one of the best - the season 3 does not include the "Alex" character despite one reviewers claim - she enters on season 4 which hopefully will be due out in Feb 2007. The episode that hooked me was Helen crashed the Jeep thru the office. Lowell and Antonio are a riot in most all these episodes, as well as everyone - 5 stars easy.

"This is just the greatest show and I was heartbroken when it went off the air. I have been waiting so long for them to put them out on DVD and I was definitely not disappointed. I was so looking forward to this season since we are welcomed with the introduction of Antonio."
