Hilary Swank played her role well and Michael Shannon does his gritty role well by being the a**hole that he usually is but you still enjoy his acting. The ending is a tear-jerker. A must watch! It was a hard movie to watch but only because of the topic, not the acting. Each actor played their part to a "T."
