"Someone in a garage somewhere burning dvds from an old VHS movie. This is garbage. I can't believe I paid money for this. There was no film transfer, just a bootleg copy with the producers laughing their butts off. A shame too because the movie deserves so much better. The story is an enjoyable one, with Brooke in top form. Burgess adding strength to the story. Beautiful locations but a sad item to add to your prized DVD collection.
Disappointed customer in Tampa"

"The video quality of this disk is horrible. At anything other than close-up range the actors are barely recognizable blurs."

"The previous reviews of the DVD version of "Wet Gold" don't take into account that this title was a made for TV movie, not a theatrical released movie. "Wet Gold" was produced in the early 1980's, probably on film, a far cry from the way programs are produced today for broadcast or satellite tv (now digitally or in high definition). A better copy of "Wet Gold" may not be available or is non-existent from the studio or network. Yes, the quality of this DVD is not comparable to "most" titles today, but I found this title a valuable addition to my collection as well as to those who are Brooke Shields fans. At the price under $10 when I bought it from Amazon.com, the "Wet Gold" DVD includes a nicely done "scene selection" menu. The color quality is good that definitely highlights some great location shots of the title and way above just "watchable." I'm happy that the title was even released on DVD, as many people now avoid the troublesome and less user-friendly VHS format. "Wet Gold" highlights Brooke Shields in one of her post-"Blue Lagoon" titles. The late Burgess Meredith co-stars in the title."

"It is true, the quality of this 'DVD' is not great but it is watchable.I already had the movie on VHS and was very dissapointed to find the quality the same. The story itself is entertaining and for die hard Brooke fans this movie is a must. She is in a bikini or cut off denims and tank tops in virtually every scene which only emphasises just how gorgeous she was at the time. Its basically Brooke doing a swimsuit calender...with a few blokes and a crusty old man thrown in.Enjoy!"
