This film begs comparison with 'Pretty Woman', but where Richard Gere is charming, Julia Roberts irrisistable and the pair together had real chemistry, Dermot Mulroney is the Robert Stack of the new millennium, as wooden as they come, and there is no chemistry whatsoever generated between him and Debra Messing. This makes it impossible to suspend disbelief that the plot is utterly ridiculous. If you need a movie to keep you out of the rain, this'll do it, but it won't generate the lasting affection of 'Pretty Woman.'"
