"Well done DVD with lots of menu options. You can play the whole series of poses or pick the ones you want in your own order. There is also a choice called "One Asana at a Time" which lets you loop through each pose and repeat, rest, or go on to the next poses. Very well designed DVD!
I love the Hawaiian ocean background. Wai Lana is not too talkative and has a very calming voice. Some of the postures are challenging and I love her twisting camel pose, but may be difficult for beginners. (She gives verbal instructions on options for beginners.) There is a mix of floor and standing poses. This practice will work your whole body and get your circulation going, yet with slow, steady movements and breathing.
Included with the DVD is a booklet showing the sequence of poses, photos of the poses, and the benefit of each. The poses included are:
Three-step leg lift (lying on your back and holding form)
Rock & roll (to invigorate your spine)
Sitting eagle (Not traditional eagle. This is sitting up and leaning back, opening arms to strengthen your core.)
Arm circles, Shoulder rolls, Shoulder lifts (for relieving tension and getting movement into your arms and shoulders)
Reaching backbend (beginners do this pose with care)
Windmill (great standing twist and good holding time)
Tree pose (traditional yoga balance pose)
Easy Camel (twisting camel, challenging)
Alternate leg stretch (forward bending)
Biking pose (lying on back and lots of movement)
Drawbridge (lying on back, raising both legs with breath)
Side leg raise (for toning your bottom ;o)
Lizard pose (moving child pose)
Locust lift (strengthen your back)
Sacrum massage (great, relaxing conclusion)
Her bright outfits and natural background location change with every posture which is a bit distracting at first, but I got used to it and her outfits are bright, beautiful Hawaiin colors. The yoga sound meditation (singing) is quite different as they show a close-up of Wai with lots of make-up. She is singing in Hawaiian and they give you the words when she first starts out so you can follow along.
Also included is language option in Spanish.
