Did Austin Mean To Hit Vince or Was He Gunning For Dude Love

"1998 Unforgiven

April 26, 1998

Greensboro Coliseum Complex

Greensboro, North Carolina

The Rock, D'Lo Brown, & Mark Henry

V.

Ken Shamrock, Faarooq, & Steve Blackman

Good opener with Shamrock's team winning. ***

WWF European Championship:

Triple H (Champion) V. Owen Hart

Very good match that had a very good ending. Triple H wins with X-Pac's help. ***1/2

NWA World Tag Team Championship:

Midnight Express (Champions) V. Rock & Roll Express

Good match that could have been better actually. The "New" Midnight Express wins. **3/4

Evening Gown Match:

Sable V. Luna

Let's go Luna!!, oh sorry, yes...Luna wins and I see two D's in the rating if you know what I mean...DUD...what did you guys think I meant?

WWF Tag Team Championship:

New Age Outlaws (Champions) V. LOD 2000

Good match that was about what I expected. Outlaws win. ***

Inferno Match:

Undertaker V. Kane

very good match that had fire everywhere. Taker makes Kane burn! ***3/4

WWF Championship:

Stoen Cold Steve Austin (Champion) V. Dude Love

Awesome match that saw Austin hit vince in the head with a chair! Did he mean it. Probably but Dide Love wins by DQ because of it. Cheap ending. ****1/4

Overall a very good show in my opinion with HHH/Owen having a good match again and the Inferno match was fun to watch and the WWF Championship was pretty cool."
1ST EVER INFERNO MATCH (KANE VS. THE PHENOM)
shinedownfan | 10/10/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Awesome. It doesn't surpass 1999's "Unforgiven", but this certainly was a treat. First up was the first-ever Inferno Match, in a ring surrounded by flames in which the object of the match is to get your opponent on fire (Kane vs. Undertaker); WWF Championship Match: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin (Champion) vs. Dude Love (w/Vince McMahon at ringside); European Championship Match: Triple-H (Champion) vs. Owen Hart, with Chyna suspended above the ring in a steel cage; first-ever Evening Gown match: Sable vs. Luna; Tag Team Championship Match: The New Age Outlaws (Champions) vs. L.O.D. 2000; Six-Man Tag Team War: Faarooq, Ken Shamrock, and Steve Blackman vs. the Nation of Domination; Double J (Jeff Jarrett) sings with country singer sensation Sawyer Brown. Awesome matches. The best is the Inferno Match, the Six-Man Tag Team War, and the Tag Team Championship match."

"This was the first ever unforgiven event. The ppv was good, but the quality of the tape i got played rough at times. Thanks for reading and please rate!

6-Man War

Faarooq, Ken Shamrock, Steve Blackman vs. Nation Of Domination

This actually wasn't all that bad. The match had some nice wrestling and good moves by the rookie steve blackman. The only problem I had with this match was that shamrock wasn't involved much. Good opener. Match Rating:3.5/5

WWE European Championship

Triple H vs. Owen Hart

This match was good, but didn't live up to thier wrestlemania 14 match a month earlier. The ending was kind of cheap because x-pac helped hhh get the win. Match Rating:3.5/5

NWA World Tag Team Championships

The New Midnight Express vs. Rock and Roll Express

This was just average. The match could have been a little better, but it is watchable. Match Rating:3/5

WWE Tag Team Championships

The New Age Outlaws vs. L.O.D. 2000

This was a very good tag team match. Lots of nice moves in this one. The match gets a lot more exciting towards the end, but the reverse decision brought a cheap ending which kind of ruined the bout for me, otherwise the match was good. Match Rating:3.75/5

First Ever Inferno Match

The Undertaker vs. Kane

This was the first ever inferno match and still the best by far. Thier match at wrestlemania 14 was better, but this was a nice match. Look out for the great moment where vader comes in and attacks kane and undertaker jumps over the top rope and dives on both men. Undertaker sets kane on fire to win. Match Rating:4.5/5

WWE Championship

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Dude Love

This is a lost classic in my point of view. This match was overshadowed by thier encounter the next month at over the edge. This was a very solid matchup and a couple of nice brawls on the outside. The d.q. ending on stone cold didn't really ruin the match for me because i thought it was funny when he hit mr. mcmahon with a chair. A very solid main event. Match Rating:5/5

This was a good unforgiven. It had a average mid-card, but i recommend it for the inferno and wwe title matches. Pick this one up!"
It only deserves 4 stars

"1.Rock,D-lo and Mark henry vs Farooq, shamrock and steve blackman.
This was a very good match high speed and very entertaining even though the peaple that won wasnt who I wanted to win. 5/52.European title match HHH vs Owen hart with chyna in a steel cage above the ring.
This match was also good and a very suprising ending I was glad It didnt have the same ending as the wrestlemania between the same two. 5/53.Midnight exspress vs rock and roll express
Funny at times but besides that very stupid. 1/54.Evening gown match sable vs luna
only good because of two reasons both sables puppies. 2/55.Intercontital title match New age outlaws vs roadwarriors with sunny
An exciting match but the end was very very wierd. 3/56.Inferno match undertaker vs kane
This was a very good match i whould have given it a 5/5 If the ending how kane caught on fire wasnt so fake. 4/57.WWF championship match stonecold vs dude love
This was a ok match but dude love just plain out stinks. you think they could have found somebody better than that. 4/5"
