The Ultimate Opportunist gets his own DVD set.

(5 out of 5 stars)
"The latest release from WWE Home Video showcases one of the most controversial and exciting wrestlers in the business. The man known as the "Rated-R Superstar" starts from humble beginnings as Adam Copeland in Toronto, Canada, where he trains to be a Pro-Wrestler, in addition to his life-long friend Jay Reso (AKA Christian) who he teams with in the late-'90's and they become one of the funniest and most talented teams in the history of the WWE, meeting teams such as the Hardyz and The Dudley Boyz and trading the Tag-Team titles back and forth. Edge finally broke out on his own and became Intercontinental Champion, and he also faces some top-quality opponents such as Eddie Guerrero, Lance Storm, Test, Kurt Angle, Mr. Perfect, Randy Orton and Edge. Later on, he trades the WWE title with John Cena and Rob Van Dam, and also the World Heavyweight title with the Undertaker and Batista. He also faces off with Hardcore Legend Mick Foley, Rey Mysterio, Kane, Matt Hardy and other top Superstars. I do recommend this DVD set (3 Discs) for all fans of this controversial but highly-rated wrestler. 4 1/2 out of 5 stars."

(4 out of 5 stars)
"vs. Owen Hart - This was one of Edge's first televised matches in WWE and for being a rookie, he was able to keep up & hold his own against the veteran Owen showing the early potential we would later see develop over the years...along with the cameo debut of a future "Instant Classic."
(Breakdown '98)
Ladder Match vs. New Brood (Hardy Boyz) - This was the match that put both teams on the map that would eventually plant the seeds for the future series of ladder/TLC matches featuring various members. Since this was the first tag team ladder match, it was non-stop action & never a dull moment.
(No Mercy '99)
[Also available on "The Ladder Match" & "Hardy Boyz: Leap Of Faith"]
Ladder Match vs. Tag Team Champions Dudley Boyz vs. Hardy Boyz - It's amazing concidering all the talk & hype surrounding the series of ladder/TLC matches, this is the first time this one has been released outside of the PPV. Anyways, this match topped the previous ladder match & was a non-stop highlight reel with tables getting involved along with so many memorable moments like Jeff Hardy's swanton off the biggest ladder in the match & Matt Hardy going through a table that look like it exploded on impact.
(WrestleMania 2000)
vs. Intercontinental Champion Lance Storm - Lance Storm regards this as his best match during his WWE run and you could see why here as These two put together a solid wrestling match.
(SummerSlam '01)
Unification Match: WCW U.S. Championship vs. WWF Intercontinental Champion Test - Test continued what was his best year in the business in this match with Edge as they both delievered a good performance here that lived up to the buildup & hype it was given.
(Survivor Series '01)
vs. Mr. Perfect - On Perfect's DVD, Edge talked about how much of an honor it was to wrestle Mr. Perfect & this was the match he was talking about as once but it was really too short to be anything noteworthy...besides the awful commentary.
("Heat" Mar. '02)
Hair Match vs. Kurt Angle - One of Edge's best series of matches in WWE was with Kurt Angle and you can see why here as they went back & forth with high intensity & had the crowd hooked...and everything that happened afterwards was just the icing on the cake.
(Judgment Day '02)
Steel Cage Match vs. Kurt Angle - Before I get started, it was nice to see Stu Hart in the audience in one of his final public appearences. You had another quality match here in these two just delivering an awesome match with some comedic elements involving Kurt Angle's "hair", high intense moves, & a cameo by a "real american."
("SmackDown!" May '02)
[Also available on the "Bloodbath: Wrestling's Most Dangerous Steel Cage Matches"]
w/Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. Tag Team Champions Billy & Chuck - The big story here was Edge winning the tag team titles with his childhood hero Hulk Hogan. Edge & Hogan were just clicking this match with Billy & Chuck in what was a great match for SmackDown TV.
("SmackDown" July '02)
[Also available on "Hulk Hogan: The Ultimate Anthology"]
vs. Eddie Guerrero - I remember being at this event & they delievered a great quality match that I felt topped their previous SummerSlam match as these two just had natural chemistry together.
(Unforgiven '02)
vs. Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton - Years before the thought of "Rated RKO," Edge was on a mission to take out Randy Orton & end the longest I.C. title reign in over 7 years. This match had some dull moments (2-3 min. headlocks by Orton) but went back & forth between both guys with an interesting note here being how the fans were divided as half were cheering for Edge while half were getting behind Randy Orton despite being a heel in Evolution.
(Vengeance '04)
[Also available on "History Of The Intercontinental Championship"]
Street Fight vs. Shawn Michaels - No, this isn't the same street fight that was on the "RAW: 15th Anniversary" but the better one they did the year before as Edge was in the early stages of his current run as a heel & it was real aggressive throughout the entire match to the point where HBK was heavily bleeding.
("RAW" Feb. '05)
vs. Kane - While this wasn't as good as their later series of matches are (available on both Kane DVD's), this was still a good back & forth encounter between the two with the highlight being "art imitating life" as Lita would join forces with Edge.
("RAW" May '05)
Street Fight vs. Matt Hardy - We all know the real life story here so it's pointless to repeat it but this rematch was the match we should have gotten at the SummerSlam PPV. Just like the street fight with HBK, this was aggressive right from the start non-stop throughout the match with one hell of an ending...and man, Lita was quite the sight to look at in this match.
("RAW" Aug. '05)
vs. WWE Champion John Cena - You get the final 3 minutes of the Elimination Chamber match before Edge earns his nickname "the ultimate opportunist" here as he cashed in his "Money In The Bank" at the right time to finally win the WWE Championship.
(New Years Revolution '06)
Hardcore Match vs. Mick Foley - This was about Mick Foley getting his "WrestleMania moment" and he did because I felt like this was the best match of the night & one of the best hardcore matches in WWE history. Lita getting a barb-wired Mr. Socko & the spear though the flaming table at the end is really something that has to be seen.
(WrestleMania 22)
[Also available on "Mick Foley's Greatest Hits & Misses: Hardcore Edition"]
w/Mick Foley & Lita vs. Tommy Dreamer, Terry Funk, Beulah - Awesome hardcore action with Funk stuck in barbwire, Dreamer & Edge brawling, the catfight with Beulah & Lita and even Foley on fire...plus it was nice to see Beulah again (you can never get enough of her).
(ECW One Night Stand '06)
[Also available on "Mick Foley's Greatest Hits & Misses: Hardcore Edition" & "ECW: Extreme Rules"]
vs. WWE Champion Rob Van Dam vs. John Cena - This was one of those triple threats where it was constant action throughout the match with Edge once again being the "ultimate opportunist" in the end to once again become WWE Champion.
("RAW" July '06)
[Also available on "Best Of RAW: 15th Anniversary"]
WWE Championship Match vs. John Cena - Cena put in a strong performance here and Edge's almost comical reactions to Lita trying to help him when he could lose the belt on a DQ added an element of humor to the match.
(SummerSlam '06)
vs. Rob Van Dam - Great match back & forth action packed match to the point where at one moment, RVD connected with a kick that injured Edge's jaw & kept him out of action for weeks. Just look at how exausted Edge was afterwards to see why he calls RVD on his favorite opponents.
("RAW" Feb. '07)
vs. Randy Orton - A match against the former Rated RKO members and was a better match than their previous Vengeance one 3 years earlier as you saw both guys try to "out heel" each other at times along with Orton taking some big bumps like the spear all the way into bouncing off the announce table & even getting busted open at one point.
("RAW" Apr. '07)
vs. World Champion Undertaker - Just like his first title win against Cena, he once again cashed in his "Money In The Bank" at the right time to win the World Championship.
("SmackDown!" May '07)
World Championship Match vs. Batista - This was Batista's last title shot against Edge and this turned out to be their best match out of their PPV trilogy as Batista gave his best performance of the year outside of his matches with Undertaker and the suprize twist in the final moments of the match just added to Edge's performance.
(Vengeance '07)
World Championship Match vs. Rey Mysterio - Edge (who had a heavy amount of fan support) target Mysterio's knee after the first couple of mins. resulting in Mysterio using other moves like him sliding under the bottom rope & hooking Edge for a DDT all in one motion. Edge won after a spear on Mysterio who was in the middle of a top rope springboard.
(Royal Rumble '08)
TLC Match for World Championship vs. Undertaker - Well, this match delievered on crazy spots & hardcore action with the weapons being used at various times like Edge being chokeslammed off a ladder onto another ladder bridged on the outside (that didn't give), Edge getting the last ride through two stacked tables, all the members of La Famila either going through tables on the outside or being nailed with chairs, and Taker taking the ultimate fall through the four double stacked tables on the outside.
(One Night Stand '08)
Hell In The Cell Match vs. Undertaker - In the weeks leading up to this match, you saw Edge's personality change & it was showcased in this match as a different Edge wrestled here than you saw in their previous encounters. Edge came off as insane & obsessed with Taking out taker once & for all instead of being scared, intimiated, and relying on help like his previous encounters. Throughout the match, Edge utlilzed his specialties in tables, ladders, and chairs throughout match while being very physical & aggressive in his offense like multiple spears through the caged cell wall & ECW announce table. Undertaker gave a main event performance like he usually does in this position & eventually overcame everything Edge threw at him, got his revenge using various props that Edge used against him in the past, & finished Edge off with a tombstone for the victory before sending Edge "to hell."
(SummerSlam '08)
Bonus Section with commentary by Edge & Matt Striker:
Adam Copeland vs. Christian (WWF tryout) - This was a dark match at a WWE show after Edge just got his contract & before Christian got his. It was really impressive that had the members of the crowd popping for some of the moves they were pulling off.
(Cornwall, ON - November 10, 1997)
vs. Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett - This is one of those rare moments that many wrestlers don't get. In his hometown & also the same arena where he watch WrestleMania VI, Edge went in as a last minute replacement to defeat Jeff Jarrett and win his first title, the Intercontinental Championship...which was a bigger shock to Edge himself than anyone else.
(Toronto, ON - July 24, 1999)
Besides the bonus matches, other DVD extras include a "Best Of Edge & Christian" highlights package. The real faults here are the format that they decided to go with here as on a normal "matches only" release, you hear a few comments from the wrestler before the match regarding what we're about to see but that wasn't the case here as Edge only spoke (completely in character) on here around 6-7 times along with showing a few highlight packages here & there (edited together to look like a movie preview) along with a very brief background on Edge's growing up & getting in the business in the beginning with hearing very quickly from his mother. Besides that, it just goes from one match to the next one most of the time. Also, they completely ignored the Edge/Christian feud which was his first major storyline as a singles wrestler...the cage match from the Rebellion PPV would have been a perfect choice. And I personally feel that since the No Mercy ladder match was already on "The Ladder Match" DVD (which basically was an Edge highlight reel) that it could have been left off this release in favor of the "forgotten" ladder match they had with the Hardy Boyz on RAW in Sept. 2000. Anyways, for these reasons...I will only 4 star this instead of 5.
In the end, if your looking for more insight into the man Adam Copeland & the character of Edge then I suggest that you save your money & wait when they do a documentry (what's the point of doing it now when his career isn't over or even coming close to winding down unlike how HBK & Flair's were when they got their documentries?). However if your looking strictly at the matches, I would have to say that with a minor exception (the Mr. Perfect match), all the matches were DVD quality & your getting your money's worth so I recommend under those circumstances."

"I personally enjoyed watching a decade of decadence very much, the matches that were showed in there were great and it highlighted some of his better moments and just shows what Edge can really do in the ring. It would have been nice to hear from his personal point of view rather then the Edge character but all around it was still great to watch. I would recommend this set for any Edge fan out there, I cant wait to see whats next to come for him and his career but i bet it will be amazing."
Question about picture format transfer on Edge DVD set
LazyBoy83 | USA | 12/26/2008

"Can someone please tell me if the three 2008 matches(on disc 3)in this Edge DVD set are infact in widescreen or are they in "cropped sides" full screen?. i know the 2008 "PPV" DVD's starting with Wrestlemania have been given the widescreen transfer treatment since WWE went Hi-Def in january 2008 so i was just wondering if they kept the 2008 matches in widescreen for Edge's DVD set. also for anyone that owns any of the other WWE compilation sets that were put out in 2008 such as the the Hardy boyz 2-disc and/or Kane's recent 3-disc are the 2008 matches on those sets in widescreen as well?. i want them as they originally aired in widescreen format on here. i don't have a widescreen TV so i can't tell. if the picture is in widescreen the top left corner of screen will have the silver "WWEHD" box logo present as well as the bottom left corner "WW" scratch logo will look more pushed towards the center area of the screen. this is a real question...please help!."
