Another cold case prodigy. Three seasons so far, ongoing, and completely binge-able. First two seasons also available on Prime at the moment. Each series deals with a new case, introducing seemingly unconnected characters who are gradually revealed to have some relationship with the victim. As the murder mystery unfolds, the emotional ramifications of the crime are also explored in the lives of those affected. My wife and I enjoyed these a lot. An American remake is in development for ABC, but will be entitled "Suspects".
Nicola Walker has much variation in her acting arsenal. Every time I come across another role of hers, I cannot stop thinking about my first exposure to her in a series from 1999 called "The Last Train," which may top the list of post-apocalyptic fare I've viewed. I've rarely seen anything as dark and harrowing as that show was, and it is beyond ridiculous that it has no official release to date. The series was written by Matthew Graham, who went on to co-create and write "Life on Mars, its spin-off "Ashes to Ashes", the short-lived "Bonekickers", and most recently the SyFy Channel miniseries "Childhood's End" based on the novel by Arthur C. Clarke. In the United States, the Fox Network purchased the rights to produce a new version of "The Last Train" soon after its original UK transmission. Retitled "The Ark," the idea did not progress beyond the pilot stage.
