The Tunnel is a three season neo-noir British-French crime drama television series adapted from the 2011 Danish-Swedish crime series The Bridge, though The Tunnel stands up well on its own merit. As with many countries in the world, there are attitudes and history that both connect and divide the UK and France. So, when 2 detectives are called from both sides of the pond, culture shock ensues, as well as some good chuckles from the viewing audience. And what eventually develops is a very strong bond of friendship between these two characters, the sort that one would be willing to die for. I found the entire three seasons intelligently written, gripping, and by the end of season three, I was worked up into a right tizzy. Very well cast, indeed. The filming is also rather...cinematic? For those concerned, the cussing scale was rather low, although there were a couple brief scenes of nudity in the first season. Highly recommend!
