Spend an evening with Toots!

"This is a video made in a small New Orleans bar in 1985. The ambiance is there is a big way, right down to the booze flowing freely, the cigarettes and the waitresses. But what's best is Toots playing as part of an acoustic quartet, with a piano, bass, and drums. There are a couple of breaks with Toots doing short interviews. The sound quality is great. The other musicians are stellar too.
I started playing around with a chromatic harmonica a couple of months ago, and I love the thing. But only in my dreams will I ever approach the virtuosity Toots displays with this instrument. When my wife first heard it she thought it was a clarinet, perhaps.
If you are a jazz lover, you need to get this video. There aren't many jazz harp players in the world, and Toots is the best there is. Pop this disk in your dvd player, pour yourself some Grand Marnier, light up a cigar, and kick back for an evening of fantastic jazz with Toots Thielemans.
