Movie ReviewsStill the "Swamp Fox" , Still the best. Robert D. Martin | GSO, NC | 11/03/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "After viewing this video, it's good to see how he has grown as a performer. This is a far more nuanced performance than the " Live at Austin City Limits- 1980" and is more interesting to me. Of coarse the "ACL -1980" show is one of the best and funkiest ever. Why TJW is not better known or a star in the US as he is in Europe is baffling to me. Other than youtube, there is so little footage of him.
Of special interest is the song selection. Several of these tunes are not on many of his "Best Of" CD'S. This show was more introspective in feel and sound than his earlier funky, rockin' shows. No one plays guitar or harmonica quite like Tony Joe. Do yourself a favor and check him out. Do others a favor..........share..." |
