Movie ReviewsVery Solid WWII B Flick Randy Buck | Brooklyn, NY USA | 06/25/2007 (3 out of 5 stars) "TONIGHT WE RAID CALAIS is an enjoyable little piece of studio propaganda, with an efficient screenplay by Waldo Salt, and nice Fox production values. Annabella's not the most expressive of actresses (or particularly fluent in English, for that matter), and she's a bit mature and lacquered for Odette, the picture's farm-girl heroine. But she rallies nicely for the film's flag-waving action climax. The glory of this picture's the supporting cast; stalwarts such as Beulah Bondi, Lee J. Cobb, Marcel Dalio and Blanche Yurka elevate the picture from run-of-the-mill into a real pleasure for film buffs. Handsome black-and-white photography, in a fine transfer. What is so interesting about all of them, is that they didn't know how the war was going to end, therefore they all ended on an inspiring note.
