I love this workout! I rate it a solid intermediate level. This is a 30 minute, mixed impact, floor aerobics routine. Tamilee is positive and encouraging, and she looks great. Very motivating. There is no tricky choreography here. I have a collection of about 200 workout dvds, meaning some NEVER get touched, and I still do this one at least once a week on my cardio days. Recommend!

Short Intense Aerobics to Blast You into Better Cardio Shape
blueyed puella | CT, USA | 09/08/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)
"Workout Description: about 27 minutes of aerobics cardio with a short 3 minute warm-up, 2 minute cool-down, and 2 minute stretch for a total of 34 minutes
Workout Level: mid-to very high intermediate; high impact; fairly basic choreography
Instructor: Tamilee Webb (Has degrees in Physical Education and Exercise Science; IDEA's 1993 Instructor of the Year; original Buns of Steel instructor). Tamilee is soft-spoken but serious about what she is doing. She restricts her chatter to cueing and pointing out facts about the muscles you're working.
Class: 2 young women
Music / Set: The beat-heavy sythesizer music is instrumental and standard exercise video stuff. The brightly lit set has a few pieces of exercise equipment scattered around an otherwise minimally decorated set. (This is the standard set used in the Natural Journeys videos.)
Equipment Needed: sneakers
Caveats: You may want to eliminate the pivots if you work out on carpet. The warm-up and cool-down are pretty short, so I often expand both when I have the time.
Additional Comments: You don't need much space for this workout. You should be able to take one big step forward and backward and two big steps to each side.
This video proves that a short workout can be intense, so it's great when you don't have a lot of time. It's not the most exciting workout, but it's effective. I really don't do this workout as often as I should. . .
There is a companion tape, which uses a step and weights for toning. You don't need both. (I only have Cardio Blast.)
The DVD allows you to select the chapter or play the workout with music only. Bonus features include a 10 minute buns workout (with mostly squats), a nutrition guide with menus and recipes, a photo gallery of Tamilee, trailers for other Tamilee workouts, and testimonials from people who do Tamilee workouts w/ before & after pictures."
Solid, straighforward cardio

(4 out of 5 stars)
"I've had this DVD for about a year, and it has consistently remained one of my favorites. It's a solid, tough workout. At 30 minutes long, it includes chunks of plyometric moves - meaning jumps and hops that I find invigorating but might be tough for those with bad knees. The workout is broken up into a handful of segments. It gradually increases in difficulty, peaks, then lightens back up. Only the last segment seems to drag. (Tamilee says, "We're almost done ..." as though she's winding down, only to begin the set anew instead.) I always break a sweat with this video. Tamilee is one of my favorite instructors (and, as my husband will attest, I'm something of a workout DVD-aholic, so I've tried many!)
This instructor is no-nonsense, but still polite. She even says things like, "Two more, please," which keeps me liking her. Her two sidekicks, meanwhile, have no personality whatsoever. Luckily, they don't detract from the workout; they just don't add to it. In the end, my use of this video has been somewhat sporadic. I'll use it a few times a week for several months, then forget about it for a month or two before dusting it back off. The bottom line, though, is that I always come back to it. It's a solid, straightforward cardio routine."
Great for the Pear Shaped

"Oftentimes after doing a workout I need to spend extra time working on my legs and butt. I am a pear shape, which means my waist is not an issue, but my J.LO butt (however, not toned) makes me look heavier than I really am. This DVD pays A LOT of attention to those problem areas and so I recommend it for the pear in us all!"
The best Cardio workout I've ever done!
Elisa Ramos | Wilmington, CA | 07/15/2005

"This is a fantastic cardio workout! Tamilee knows how to get your heart pumping and your body sweating. I've worked out with several instructors and Tamilee's the best. I consider her my personal trainer. She's not overbearing. She's easy to follow and very knowledgeable. You'll learn the routine after just a couple of times. This workout is 30 minutes long, so I like to follow it with her "I want that Body" video for some nice ab and arm toning. Tamilee works out with only 2 other girls so you don't get distracted watching a lot of different people working out at different paces. The instrumental music is great and not at all annoying. I highly recommend this workout to anyone who's got 30 minutes and willing to burn some fat & calories!!"
Soaking wet hair!!
kristof1965 | Munroe Falls, OH USA | 03/02/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)
"I've been working out steadily five times per week since mid-November, using an elliptical trainer about three times per week, along with weight training and a few other exercise videos. After three weeks, this DVD is still extremely challenging to me cardio-wise, though the choreography is relatively easy. For me, a sign of a good workout is a lot of sweat, and this one gets my hair soaking wet, every time! The major downside about the DVD version is the producer's opening advertisements, which cannot be skipped over."
