The Syndicate ran for 3 seasons between 2012 to 2015. I've run into several British lottery series through the years. All have been quite outstanding. They seem to have a penchant for weaving complicated drama around the subject. The Syndicate is most definitely no exception. The term 'syndicate' in this case is defined as a group of people who collectively purchase a lottery ticket. There are five people in this instance, and the complications of winning 4 million pounds each becomes quite the nightmare, especially when combined with a rather awful crime(s) committed beforehand. You will become fixated and binge this, so make sure you've a good stretch to view.
Incidental music is composed by guitarist Hal Lindes from Dire Straits. Looks like Seasons 1 and 3 have been released in Region 1. Hate it when Acorn does this. Each season is a self contained story. ABC created their own adaptation in 2013 entitled "Lucky 7". The first 2 of 8 episodes were aired on the network, and later the remainder were released on iTunes.
