Member Movie Reviews Chad B. (abrnt1) from CABERY, IL Reviewed on 3/10/2011... This film had such potential. Superman is the first super hero and an American icon. Too bad this film missed the point. The largest problem was the fact it decided to be a sequel to Superman II. Five years after leaving Earth to discover his origin Superman returns and nobody cares. This movie is a long and pointless waste of time. If you're having trouble falling asleep this snooze fest should help. This film is awful. The largest problem is it fails to live up to expectations. Superman is a hard character to handle. The largest problem is how do you make a character with the power of a god interesting? In the 90s there was a proposed version that did seem interesting. Tim Burton was set to direct a script by Kevin Smith starring Nic Cage. Now that could have been worth watching. 1 of 2 member(s) found this review helpful. EJ N.
