Jeff Bridges played this role to a "T" and Karen Allen was excellent too. Considering this was made 25 years ago, the film quality and very little use of graphics are amazing. I don't make a habit of reviewing DVDs. This is not your typical John Carpenter flick - like "Escape From New York" or "They Live" - which are awesome! - but I have watched this movie many times as well. At its core it is a romance, it is about an alien and a human woman who go from not understanding each other at all to falling in love. It is deep and allegorical and everything that a typical John Carpenter film is not - and it is one of his best. 2 of 2 member(s) found this review helpful.
