Movie Reviews

Respect!

"This is one AWESOME slice into the heart of life that exemplifies the Soulfly Tribe. Max Cavalera is living breathing example of what one can achieve if they truly believe.

A superb and compelling documentary covering almost a decade of devotion to his craft that sees Max at his best- on stage and at home. He lets down his guard and shares his story of living (and loving) life to the fullest creating uniquely heavy inspirational music to delight fans worldwide.

Sure, the hardcore fan will be pleased with the requisite 4 videos (one from each Soulfly album to date) and the abundance of promised live performance shots but the heart and soul of this release is the interviews from the Phoenix desert and the "behind the scenes" footage which provide an exclusive backstage pass into family Cavalera- a true tribe united.

A trendsetter in his own right, Max arrived from Brazil to earn acclaim. His message certainly comes from deep in the heart and provides the temptation to absorb the emotion pouring out of the music. Staying true to one's roots and beliefs is very honorable and this underlying trait comes through in abundance on this riveting collection.

After watching the 90 minutes of music, mayhem and the man I'm sure you will agree that the song surely does remain insane for one who has overcome tragedy and adversity to rise above and persevere. Empowered by faith and commitment, believing in experimentation for the sake of growth.

Bringing substance over style and progressing through the course of one's career is the secret of life. And Max Cavalera proves it here. He is genuinely real. Enjoy this slice of life the Soulfly way!"

"Great live footage of Soulfly across the globe. Many interviews with Max, covering the Sepultura years through Prophecy. All the Soulfly videos and in the studio for Prophecy. Great for the Soulfly fan, very thorough. Will not disappoint. German boy is wrong!"

"I'd been waiting for a soulfly dvd for sometime, and im glad they finally got this thing out. It provides a new look at soulfly, max, and the music. The live footage is great, and the videos are fine as well, but the highligh of this dvd for me was the interview footage. I recomend this to any soulfly fan, or any fan of max."
