Despite the fact that this movie has a fine actor and fine actresses as well as an important American author, the film fails. Because it comes from a short story, it has brought in various other works of Hemmingway to fill in the time- which after awile becomes humorous instead of adding to the seriousness of the situation. I felt it dragged and did not sustain the horror at the end. In fact, it had a happy ending-certainly not Hemingway's. 1 of 1 member(s) found this review helpful.
