What starts as an intellectual actioner switches gears into a relatively run-of-the-mill revenge story. The first third of this movie is really good - it's obvious that the writer and Wahlberg put a lot of effort into understanding Force Recon Snipers. Unfortunately, the storyline gets less credible as we move into the half and latter parts of the film. Some hard to believe elements: 1) the FBI cannot find a woman who changed back to her maiden name, 2) a world class shootist forgetting to check if a weapon had a firing pin, 3) the entire "trial" scene near the end, and 4)(foremostly) completely screwing over a Force Recon sniper who just got released from jail, and then deciding that hanging out in a remote cabin in the woods with just a few guards is a good idea. This movie went from a PhD to kindergarten in the span of two hours, which is really unfortunate. It gets a middling review because the first 20 minutes or so might make seeing the movie worthwhile, but don't expect anything you haven't seen before once the first 30 mins is up.
