Edward P. from NORWALK, CA Reviewed on 7/21/2014... I finally finished watching the series. It was a memorable show and one to watch if you like gritty cop shows. The Shield is loosely based on the events that happened at Rampart Police Division. Its about an experimental police division that focus on gang activity. The shows main characters are 4 detectives with a "the job will get done no matter what attitude". The whole show centers around events that happened in the first episode that involved the detectives. There are some heart wrenching moments and some actions that can never be taken back. The one thing that took me a long time to realize is that you (the viewer) is supposed to be a sort of 5th member; Lets say you witness everything they do but can never say anything or do anything about it, not only that you still feel because you love these characters even when they do wrong. If you realize this early in the show you will get much more out of the series ending than most people did. The series ending had mixed reviews but if you realize you are supposed to be that 5th member you will get it. 3 of 3 member(s) found this review helpful.
