"First off let me say that I LOVE SG1 and I liked well enough Atlantis. That being said, this is vastly different. This is NOT the stargate you grew up with. This show is for a much older, mature audience. It's not silly (though one character does bring in a little lighhearted comedy here and there). It offers up and requires deeper thought provoking ideas, the lines between good and evil are not so black and white, the characters you start out respecting as stand firm good guys have thier moments of weakeneses that may shock you, yet you understand their inner turmoil. And those you start out not trusting, you grow to love and respect, and towards the end of season one have a connection to each character, there are things you will love and hate about each of them, just as you do people in real life.
This is what is might be like for a group of people, some military, some civilians, to be thrust together far away from everything they know, and must learn to rely on each other for survival in the unkown...
Excellent series so far. I hope they can keep it up."

"For those who have watched star trek voyager, I Think Stargate Universe is a direct take from the Star Trek Voyager series, a ship lost in space, two crews working together,a lot of drama, betyal and twists. i think this series (Stargate Universe) is amazing. although it is compleaty different from SG1 and SGA, I Think this is the best. The producers are trying to recreate the series because some feel that after SGA, the Franchise went down. I Don't think the franchise went down i think they did an excellant job reinventing the gate!!!! Again if you like stargate you would either love or hate this series. enjoy"
