"The eight-discs means eight movies and six of those can be found in the 50 Movie Sci Fi Classics collection. I had a feeling that this might be the case, but couldn't tell from the Amazon product description. I'm returning the item, so no harm-no foul, but I thought I should let everyone know. It's a poor value."

10 Sci-Fi Flicks of Public Domain Goodness

"Sci-Fi Flicks is a collection of 10 science fiction movies that have only one thing in common: they are all public domain and as such it is possible for them to be presented in highly affordable collections. I paid $9.98 for my set and that comes down to about one dollar per movie. The way that movie tickets cost nowadays, you really cannot complain about this collection. All in all, Sci-Fi Flicks is a great 10 movie collection.
Anyways, here is how I rate the movies in Sci-Fi Flicks:
Great:
The Giant Gila Monster
They Came From Beyond Space
Good:
The Atomic Brain
First Spaceship On Venus
The Last Woman On Earth
Average:
The Amazing Transparent Man
The Brain That Wouldn't Die
The Phantom From 10,000 Leagues
Teenagers From Outer Space
Bad:
The Phantom Planet"

"Once upon a time there wasn't much in way of entertainment and B-Movies where needed to fill the theaters needs.Short on budget and long on dreams
these 10 flicks helped fuel the imagination following the Korean War and the start of the race for space in the late 50's.From Roger Corman's The Last Women On Earth written by Chinatown's Robert Towne to the particularly bad acting in Teenagers from Outer Space creating the movie's unintended hilarity to the all too serious They Came from Beyond Space this collection is mostly a nostalgic look at bad movies with great intentions.
