The commentary taken from the diaries of cowboys and newspapers are accurate accounts. The History Channel created a small glimpse into the history of the old west into an hour long show. They could not tell all in only hour long glimpses into history. If you want to gain an insight into the old west this is a great way to begin your journey. If you want to become an historian on the old west then you can read many books on the subject. But as a fan of the old west I love watching this series and hope to find more of this series available on DVD."
