The Real Bruce Lee is a documentary film that mostly consists of clips of some of Bruce's early work from Hong Kong...films that are rarely seen in the U.S. For the most part, they are black and white dramas and you have a rare chance to see an extremely young Bruce at work...in the days before his father sent him to the U.S. to keep him from fighting. There is footage of the "keepers of the flame", or "Bruce Wannabes" if you prefer, Bruce Li and Dragon Lee. This isn't an in-depth documentary...it's mainly just a clip show made to capitalize on the Bruce Lee craze that popped back up in the late 90's when his movies were re-released on VHS and DVD. But, at the same time, they're not clips you are likely to see somewhere else. This is pre-Fist of Fury stuff. So, if you're a Bruce completist, check this out. If you're looking for a martial arts extravaganza, check out a Bruce Box set. You won't find it here.
