"Put aside any thoughts of modern architecture, streamlined shapes, and normal building construction and prepare yourself for a look at some of the more zany, interesting, and hokey structures found across the nation.
Conventionality went right out the window but the imagination factor reigned supreme when these distinct and appealing tourist attractions came to be. As a testament to their uniqueness, they all have an innate ability to lure just about anyone onto their premises for a variety of reasons but the main one being, the owners hope, for the curious to spend some money.
During this one hour voyage, viewers will experience the sights, sounds, and histories of just some of the following:
The shoe house in Pennsylvania
Big Duck in Long Island, New York
Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota
Mother Goose house in Hazard, Kentucky
The world's largest ketchup bottle in Collinsville, Illinois
The Big Muskie in Hayward, Wisconsin
PBS home video has produced a good documentary here, in my opinion, in its simple but entertaining look at the funny roadsides of America.
