Why Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga & Who is Jennifer Wolfe?
*****************
Whether you're a yoga veteran in search of an active yoga routine, or you're new to yoga, Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga gives you all the tools to make your pregnancy journey the best it can be. Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga is your support system leading to a more comfortable pregnancy, quicker and less painful labor, and a speedier postpartum recovery.
Jennifer Wolfe developed Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga during her own pregnancy when she realized that all styles of prenatal yoga offered, at the time, could not adequately prepare her physically and mentally for labor. She wanted a yoga practice that specifically served the needs of the pregnant woman: one that actively prepares women for the marathon event of childbirth, while helping women discover their power and inner strength needed during this transformative period in their lives.
Jennifer Wolfe found these empowering and strengthening qualities in the soft flow of Vinyasa Yoga. In her DVDs, she adapts Vinyasa Yoga for the unique needs of pregnant women, providing a system that works with your body without sacrificing the intensity necessary to prepare for childbirth. By learning to link your breath and movements in a constant flow, you'll increase your ability to work with your body during labor and childbirth, reducing the need for medications or other interventions; including a decrease in the need for C-sections.

"I'm a Prenatal Yoga instructor and mother of three, and I was very excited to get this DVD. However, I was disappointed.
I feel it is much too vigourous for the average pregnant person. It is definately not for those without yoga experience. I feel many of the movements have the possibility of straining the abdominal and back muscles.
Please purchase with caution, and only if you have previous yoga experience with Vinyasa or Power Yoga.
In addition, the production quality isn't the best.
I found the most useful part of the DVD to be the section on partner yoga.
I much prefer The Divine Mother Prental Yoga Series by Anna Getty. Or Prenatal Yoga with Gurmukh.
Happy Pregnancy."
If you do yoga, this is the pg video for you

"This is the first pregancy yoga video I've found that is rigorous enough to keep me in yoga shape - both body and mind - through all 3 trimesters. Even my non-pregnant sister found it challenging enough to do it with me.
It is long, but you can stop whenever you want, of course.
I love the instructor and her routine here so much, that I'm hoping to find other 'regular' yoga videos from her for post-pregnancy. Very peaceful and flowing, without being patronizing or annoying.
If you haven't done yoga before, this will be a tough introduction, but if you pay close attention to her breathing instructions and watch it once through, and are relatively fit, I think it would be good for you too."
A bit too much for beginners

"I purchased both this one and the one by Shiva Rea. I have had some prior yoga experience but not much. I found this dvd a bit challenging and monotonous. They spend a lot of time on 3-4 poses that certainly give you a work out but if you are somewhat new to this and trying to exercise a bit while pregnant I think you might be better off with something more mellow like prenatal yoga with Shiva Rea"
Great for those familiar with Yoga

"I love this dvd! I was an avid ashtanga yoga practitioner before my first pregnancy, and I have really missed my practice during pregnancy #1 and now pregnancy #2. This is the first prenatal dvd that brings back the great mind and body benefits of yoga for me. I also have the Shiva Rea video (too slow) and Yoga Journal video with Kristen Eykel (I also like it, but not as much as this one. It is also much easier). My only complaint is that the practice is not broken down into segments on the DVD, and it is long, so it is hard to select part of it to do when you have limited time, like during a toddler's nap time!

"Of all the prenatal yoga videos I've seen, this is the best. This video doesn't approach pregnancy as a disability, but as a vital and vibrant stage of life.
I am a yoga instructor, and during my pregnancy I absolutely found this video to be challenging, but the modifications shown made it doable up to my due date (although naturally it became more challenging as my belly expanded). As a doula, I was comforted by the fact that Jennifer Wolfe is also a doula and clearly has extensive knowledge about the pregnant body. I never felt that I needed to be especially cautious of my joints as I have attending regular yoga classes during pregnancy. So many prenatal yoga videos and classes don't offer a challenge for the experienced practitioner; this one is a distinct exception. My favorite part was the modified sun salutation. This is the only video or class I've seen that includes this feature (incuding my own prenatal classes!). Definitely, as a previous reviewer mentioned, use a mat with this video, as there are a lot of transitions to and from your knees."
