Member Movie Reviews Samuel K. (Solvanda) Reviewed on 6/25/2018... This series was an absolute treat to watch! A gourmet chef who keeps getting recalled to duty, or else. The main character DI Crabbe has quite the wry sense of humor and appeals to the Humanity in all of us. Curiosity is peaked to see just what's on the menu each episode. I learned about a few rather obscure vegetables and varieties of such watching, and tried cooking some of these dishes myself. Great series! Really recommend this title. A treasure trove of British acting & actors. DI Crabbe retires from the police force after being shot and sets up his own restaurant. However, his ex-boss, Chief Constable Fisher constantly calls Crabbe back on duty. Between his first love – cooking – and being constantly called back on duty by Fisher, Henry finds that he's not going to fulfil his dream in peace. Prowlers, sudden deaths, retrieving rebellious daughters, missing lovers, psychics and fear of the restaurant critic are all elements Henry has to deal with as well as creating his signature steak and kidney pie – containing anchovies and said to be addictive. 1 of 1 member(s) found this review helpful.
