Surprisingly entertaining, this latest (and apparently final) Phantasm film has received nothing but scathing reviews. I fully believe that much of the hate is coming from the fact that the film was promised and teased for years, and by the time it came out people were expecting an all-out epic. Compared to the last Phantasm (Oblivion), Ravager is a joy to watch. Much more entertaining and full of non-stop action and surprises. Deadly spheres, killer dwarfs, and The Tall Man! Does it make any sense? No. Is it an emotional slow-paced desert journey for the "phans"? God no!

I won't do spoilers. Plot is the same for all 5 movies...Reggie and brothers Mike and Jody try to chase down the elusive and powerful Tall Man.

RIP Angus Scrimm
