The heroic story of a young Norse man raised by Native American Indians who wages a personal war against the Vikings that barbarically raided his tribe.

Plot-wise this movie follows the same path as "A Man Called Horse", "Dances with Wolves", and even "Avatar" to a certain degree. You know, where the outlander joins up with the peace-loving natives and defends them against his own people. So I definitely had the feeling that this movie was premised on "let's try it with Vikings this time". I guess this riff has been around since Tarzan, but hey, it works. Karl Urban is a pretty decent actor and Clancy Brown is as good as he is in Highlander (or any other villian he plays for that matter). No elaborate thinking involved with this one, just lots of action.

Marcus Nispel is an interesting filmmaker. He directed the Texas Chainsaw Massacre & Friday the 13th remakes. Pathfinder is a guy flick. It's a dark and bloody story of vikings vs indians that, while somewhat entertaining, isn't too accurate overall. Historical accuracy isn't really the point of this movie. It's an action flick.

This movie was entertaining. Doesn't really capture you but does keep your interest to watch it to the end. Definitely not a repeat at a later date movie.

I thought this a great film about courage and love. Violent yes and definitely not your usual action flick but I really enjoyed it.

EXCELLENT film! Karl Urban is phenomenal, as well as Clancy Brown and the rest of the cast!
