"This is amazing B&W film of the Oscar Peterson Trio in 1964. Ray Brown is on bass and Ed Thigpen is on drums.
The choice of material is great:
Waltz for Debby
Cubano Chant
You are my Hearts Delight
to name but a few.
This last track in particular is absolutely mind blowing. Peterson at his virtuoso best. Where lesser pianists would have stopped after the first two choruses Peterson takes the tempo up and up until Thigpen is struggling to keep up on drums!
The picture quality of the tracks up to this point is reasonable. After this track the quality is lot worse. However, the sound remains decent and the playing from all thre musicians is so good it can only get 5 stars.
