Movie Reviews

Not all men are this stupid...honest.

"This movie is shot in some strange format I know nothing of. It's wider than a standard 4x3 TV format, but isn't as wide as a standard 16x9 movie format. Whatever it is, it must be the same format that the mythbusters use. Anyway the picture quality wasn't particularly good even with my image enhancing HDTV and progressive scan DVD. As for the story itself it seems to be about a guy who thinks he has all the answers for all the problems that women face. In the end, he can't even satisfy the one who should matter though. So what's the point? Men are stupid; the pursuit of sex makes men stupid. Either way, there's a whole lot of stupid. If I wanted to watch that I'd watch a sitcom. The film is peppered with all these documentary type interviews of women. Since they're the only things that come off as authentic I'd say they were legit, and one of the few watchable aspects to this ignorant film. In all honesty the only reason I watched this film is because Jane Jensen is in it. Unfortunately, she only makes a cameo appearance, so it was hardly worth watching this incoherent torture for that brief ray of light. The only other thing I have to say about this is that there are absolutely no extras on this DVD."
Cosmic Eroticism / Astro Sex Mysticism

"Operation Midnight Climax stars Will Keenan as Will Nitch, a man on a mission to achieve a transcendental tantric sexual experience - a sustained orgasm.

Will Nitch begins his quest by endeavoring to reattach his foreskin, in the hope of regaining full sexual sensations. (Google if you're clueless).

"Will is not well," proclaims his ex-lover early in the film, whose apartment he nearly destroys later.

Will begins to assemble a Secret Society of Women: women are, afterall, pivotal in helping men to reach the cosmic blue lights (sustained orgasm). Will wants all the women for himself, and with help from all the women in his life, and his friend Chip, he plans a midnight tantric sex party, during which he hopes to climax to the point of reaching those mythical blue lights.

Will tells his aforementioned ex-lover, "Sexual ecstasy will be used as a stairway to new levels of power."

He also hopes that by forming a Secret Society of Women, he will end a worldwide plot against women, created by men, to keep women inferior and excluded from politics, the elite, et al.

Will's endeavors send him on a pratfalling odyssey through New York City, Manhattan, and the East Side, where he risks his life every chance he gets to entice women to his tantric sex party, and to avoid being followed by the Men In Black (men in secret societies), whom he believes are out to stop his plans.

Will consumes himself in his sexual desires and paranoia, and suffers a climax that sets him free, albeit at a high cost.

Will Keenan ingeniously weaves the magical world of comedic Keatonesque vaudeville into OMC by scaling high rise buildings, traffic lights, a door and a big plant, allowing himself to be hit by a car and dragged by a truck, and flinging himself down several flights of steep stairwells.

Also included in the film is a chaotic amalgamation of images that pay homage to New York's potpourri culture: the camera gives us quick glimpses of a Masonic Hall (secret society!), Oliver Stone underwear, Religious Sex (infamous clothing store), Hindu graffiti art, a life-size alien mask, bike messengers, wild clothing, and other anomalies indigenous to New York.

The cinematic magic of this movie lies in the technical processes Will Keenan used when filming and assembling this jewel. By using Super 16mm, the images are gritty, real, and rough, and the colours are slightly abstracted by natural sunlight; however, the motion remains continuously smooth and unwavering, and the scenes flow together homogeneously. This creates a documentary-style feel to the film, and leaves the viewer wondering, "Was that real? Who was acting?"

Mr. Keenan has much more than Satan Inside. I hope he continues to make films according to his own unique sense of cinema.

"This film is hilarious! Will Keenan and Michael Showalter are a funny duo. Hot babes and ridiculous slap-stick style humor. Good indie flick - highly reccomended."
