Movie Reviews

Solid Kristy McNichol vehicle.
Douglas Allen | South Orange, NJ | 08/13/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This isn't a "Little Darlings" or an "Only When I Laugh"; this is a 1979 tv-movie that I remember thinking was a little slow when I was a teenager. But for Kristy McNichol fans, this is a good opportunity to see why she was so popular. The story is nothing big and I am not even sure it works dramatically, but it isn't offensive in anyway and it does have some great shots of Kristy. Kristy's acting in this movie is very reminiscent of her work on "Family". In fact if they never release that show on DVD, this could easily be a Kristy McNichol time capsule substitute.

The quality of the picture is wonderful. Since the DVD offers no extras, just the fact that the picture is so crisp and clear is a beautiful thing, when this could have been on the quality level of the Afterschool Specials DVDs.

Only 4 stars because the story is slow and uninvolving; but a total of 4 stars, because it has the lovely Kristy McNichol."
