The nonsensical plot of this movie can be explained by the fact that the director took footage from an old film, and then added Western actors as ninjas to it to make a "new" film. While the ninjas mystical abilities are laughable at times (such as the ability to instantly change into costume when off camera for only a moment), the overall impact of these scenes is minimal. For some reason, they always wear mascara for imposing effect(?) - one guy annoyingly reminded me of Tom Selleck (ninjas with big mustaches just seem corny). The 'other' movie consists of a guy who walks around being involved in a reoccurring fight with some thugs for much of the movie. I believe the fight starts only because they were looking for someone to beat up on, and when the reverse happens, it's revenge from there on out. I'm giving the movie one more star because of how stupid and tropey this whole plot line is, but otherwise you'll need to concentrate hard to determine how the characters are supposed to relate to each other, and who's on whose side with regard to this fake-looking gold statue they are pursuing. This movie is a blatant attempt to cash in on the 80s ninja craze, but is surprisingly of poorer quality than many of those poor movies.
