Take a look back!

"I hadn't thought about this show in so long and here it is on DVD. Talk about deja vu! In the 70s there were three PBS shows that rocked harder than the others. One being Sesame Street (Pre-Elmo, Mr. Hooper Still Alive Sesame Street)and The Electric Company (Rocked the hardest with Morgan Freeman as Easy Reader!) and The New Zoo Review. I watched those shows religiously when I was a young kid. Mr. Rogers was okay, and Zoom to and Viva Allegre! but those were the three shows. I can't remember when the last time I saw Henrietta Hippo and Freddy Frog and the cool chick with the hip-high go-go boots Emmy Jo. 25 years? Probably. This is kids programming at its phenominal best! Can't touch this."
It's all coming back to me now...

"I bought this DVD out of curiosity because it was so reasonably priced. I can remember watching this in the morning before I went to school in the early 70s.
This is a collection of three episodes of the frog, the owl and the hippo and their funky fashioned human friends. The episode where Charlie the Owl invents a "happiness pill" and Doug and Emmy Jo have to talk to him about the dangers of experimenting with drugs is great fun. I'm sure that it didn't resonate with me when I was 6 years old but it's great fun to watch today.
There are no extras on this disc but it's pretty good picture quality.
Man, was Emmy Jo a babe or what???"
