Outstanding Value - Nature Films

"The individual films have been reviewed elsewhere. Outstanding value in case you are interested in twelve high quality films from the nature series [total of 11 hours]. The dvd with "Monkey in the Mirror" and "Jane Goodall's Wild Chimpanzees" are worth the price alone. The other films are simply a bonus. Sooooo....if you like nature films you cannot go wrong. The only (minor) drawback is that the films are focused only on vertebrates (chimpanzees/monkeys, horses, pandas, bears, dogs and birds). However, they are highly recommended! I hope to see more of these collections in the future. Enjoy!"
Natural High!

"What a great value! A dozen of Nature's best episodes, these shows have held up well to the passage of time. Every one is worthwhile. We set out to learn about these animals, but in every case we have the mirror turned back upon ourselves in some way. I'll just share a few impressions.
Jane Goodall's Wild Chimpanzees - Each chimp is known as an individual, but none are as interesting as Miss Jane Goodall herself. This is a valuable snapshot of her work.
Horse and Rider - We are introduced to horses trained for a variety of purposes, dressage, a rodeo cutting horse, etc. The film ends up being as much about the trainers and riders as it is about the horses.
Wild Horses of Mongolia With Julia Roberts - Miss Julia wants to find the original horses, but gets more than she bargained for. To find them she has to become deeply immersed in the nomadic Mongolian culture. Absolutely fascinating!
Walking With Giants - Here we have two people who travel to the end of the earth to find a population of grizzlies that has never interacted with people... so they can interact with them! The disc correctly describes these folks as "naturalists." They certainly aren't behaving as scientists would. But the footage of the bears themselves is top notch.
Parrots: Look Who's Talking - In this episode we examine the traits that make parrots good companions and discover that these are the very characteristics that enable them to survive in the wild. If you find them wonderful as pets, you'll be delighted when you see them in their natural environment.
This set is a keeper. I'll be watching these again and again."
