"Most of the pas de deux in this are available elsewhere, but the clip from "On Your Toes" alone is worth the purchase price. In addition to being a fantastic dancer, Makarova is a delicious comedienne."
A common man's point of view.

"Since Natalia said, "My friends call me Natasha", and did not tell me I was not her friend, I too, will call her Natasha. When I first saw Natasha, I did not think she was quite as lovely and charming as she truly is, especially in this video. My first impressions came from viewing her in the Royal Ballet version of Swan Lake with Anthony Dowell...... Tchaikovsky - Swan Lake / Makarova, Dowell, Royal Ballet Covent Garden.....She just did not convey to me the soft, delicate, vulnerable, and trapped by circumstances look that I thought Odette needed. After viewing "Natasha", the video, I have changed my mind. She is very lovely and charming (and soft and delicate) and many other becoming adjectives could by used to describe her.
I only have one complaint about this DVD. It is only five minutes longer than one hour. I could have been lazy and said, "It's only 65 minutes". I will leave the jokes to her, because she is a wonderful comedienne, which is brought out in the very first sketch on the video, from "On Your Toes". There are 10 other sketches you are certain to like just as much as I did. Excerpts from "Romeo and Juliet", "Carmen", and "Manon", to name a few. The music from each excerpt is very beautiful.
The other reviewer is only partly right about finding these pas de deuxs in other DVDs, but tis for certain you will not find them all, and you will not see her wonderful personality ANYWHERE else, unless you are personally intimate with her, and how many of us are?
You won't go wrong by ordering this DVD, promise..........Richard"
