Forget That Other Five Star Review!

"Whoever wrote the five star review for this pair of turkeys has to be working for or a shill for VCI. You see the same glowing praise from him for virtually everything they release here. I'm both a big fan of VCI and B movies but this combo is really from the bottom of the barrel. Don't let the alluring color poster on the cover fool you, "SIns of Jezebel" is low budget stuff from Lippert and not very good low budget stuff at that! "Ten Commandments" it ain't! It ain't even "Princess of the Nile" (with Debra Paget)! It's a real yawner from start to finish but it is in not so glorious Ansco Color and anamorphic wide screen if that makes any difference.
The second feature is "Queen of the Amazons" and even by B movie standards it's not very good either although at least I didn't have to fight falling asleep as I did with "Jezebel". An unbelievable amount of jungle stock footage combined with the great white hunter (Robert Lowry) leading a safari into danger story you've seen from Monogram and PRC a hundred times. The only difference here is that it's from Lippert. Best thing about it is that it only runs about 54 minutes...but it's still about 50 minutes too long. VCI says 8 minutes was cut from the initial running time, thank you for small favors. Cuthbert Twiddle (me) says "Skip it Bwana!""
