A reasonably cute kids' "horror" / Halloween movie. It features the "crotchety old man" and the "creepy old house" motifs. In this case the house is "alive" and has been sucking up toys and people for many years. Now, some kids have to figure it all out and put a stop to it before Trick-or-Treaters come around on Halloween night. Nothing too scary, but hits pretty much dead center of the YA 'horror' market. Not a bad effort.

What imagination youth have and you can relive that wonder with this film. The antimated youths are very true to life as they embark on an adventure to find out about the house across the street and the fussy old man who lives there, who wants no one to come around.
There is a quirky babysitter, a snoopy girl, over zealous and goofy policemen, as well as the best friend that increases the action. The house is alive and possessed by a spirit that causes it to devour anything or anyone who trespasses. Give it a watch, it is delightfully humorous with suspense and mystery mixed in, but most of all, it is a fun little reminder of the silly things we imagine at stages in our youth. Enjoy!

If your tired of the talking animal toon craze as of late, this is a break from the ordinary. Has a "darker" theme then most films, but hardly "cover your eyes" scary. My 8 & 5 year old LOVE this movie...especially great around Halloween time!
