The Mill ran two seasons from 2013-2014. Based on real-life stories and people of the textile mill workers at Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire, England, using stories from the archives of the National Trust Property. This is a period when the industrial revolution made Britain unrecognizable. Poverty led many a family to let childhood be stolen from their children, quite often subjecting them to extreme dangers as well. The first four episodes of the first season are a cringe-worthy droll quagmire and hard to watch. It is what I expected, having researched this period in the past. The second season is a bit lighter in tone. However, it is not available in Region one dvd. I found it on Prime though.
