I had all the VeggieTales tapes as a child, so when I ran across cheap used copies of this and Sweetpea Beauty, I decided to pick them up to see how the series was doing. While I thought Sweetpea was every bit as good as the episodes I'd grown up with, It's a Meaningful Life strikes me as far too saccharine and lacking the humor that's always been so important to VeggieTales. Most VeggieTales episodes aren't heavy-handed in delivering their messages, but this one just seems didactic. It might well have been good as a shorter story (like "The Tale of Flibber-o-Loo" or "Dr. Jiggle and Mr. Sly"), but it can't hold its own as a full episode. 1 of 1 member(s) found this review helpful.
