Nathan Laney | Northern Cambria, PA USA | 09/12/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "I must admit, when I bought this disc, I wasn't expecting much, I mean, what are you gonna get for a buck? And that's literally what I paid, $1.00 plus $.06 tax. And do you know what I got? PLENTY!!!
There are three episodes, all from 1955 when Jean Hagen was playing his wife: 1. "Children's Governess" - 2-1-55 2. "A Trip to Wisconsin" - 4-26-55 3. "Little League" - 9-20-55 Each episode IS complete including ALL of the original commercials. They also include the bits at the end of each episode where Danny and Jean would tell the audience that they would be back the following week and who the sponsor would be. The picture and sound quality is nothing to sneeze at either. It's actually pretty good! You know how there are some things that you buy and either the picture or sound or both are so bad and distracting that you can't get through it? This is VERY far from that sort of quality! They used some pretty decent prints for this disc. The packaging is nothing great, but what can you expect for one dollar? I think that over all PMB (a company I've NEVER heard of) is offering a heck of a nice product here and at that price, they're giving them away! I'm going to buy a spare in case something happens to the one I have now! I almost forgot! The sponsors seen on this disc are the American Tobacco Co. (Lucky Strike, Pall Mall, and Viceroy...Pall Mall are the cigarettes that were plugged) and Dodge." |
