Decent video, good song, but where are the extras?

"Gotta hand it to Madonna for pioneering another new music video format, the DVD single. (Remember the Justify My Love video single back in 1990?) Great idea. It's certainly an interesting looking video, she looks fab, and it's also nice to see her hanging with former cohorts Debi Mazar and Niki Harris again. If you're a fan, you'll be more than pleased. But there are only two tracks on this thing, and as far as I could tell the only difference between the two is some additional dialogue between M and the obnoxious limo driver. How about a making-of? Deleted scenes? Commentary? I mean, even some lyrics would have been nice, but there's nothing extra, and only two tracks is pretty bare-bones for an $8.99 list price. And how about a 5.1 sound mix? The video and song gets 4 stars, but the actual content of the DVD gets 1."

"Directed by Jonas Akerlund (who also directed Madonna's "Ray of Light Video") "Music" pays tribute to the blaxploitation films of the past, only with a modern sense of style and rhythm. Decked out in a cowboy hat, and stylish clothes, Madonna never looked better (even if she was three months pregnant with her second child). In the video, Madonna, her girl pals Nikki Harris and Debi Mazar, and British comedian Ali G, take a spin in a cab throughout Los Angeles and enjoying a girl's night out on the town.Madonna has always been a video when it comes to music videos, and "Music" is a major mindtrip. Ali G, the famed British comedian who known for his hip-hop style and lingo is hysterical. It is amazing to see Madonnna back to her dance roots, and this ode to the 1970's and blaxploitation films of that decade make this song come alive. It was interesting to see Madonna animated once again (she was animated in her "Who's That Girl" video), and although the video might a bit too much for kids in terms of the video's adult content, Mr. Akerlund has proved himself as one of the world's best music video directors. All hail Madonna! The queen is back!"

"I love this Music video so much. This song went to number 1 in the US. Its starts off with Ali G. in a limosine and Madonna taps on his window asking "Are you my driver". Madonna looks cute as ever dressed in all white and wearing a white cowboy hat. She gives him the CD Music to play and she gets in with her 2 girlfriends Nikki Harris and Debi Mazer. "Music" starts and each of the letters of the song flash up in gold. There is a lot of glitz in this video and I loved it. Madonna rides around the town while sipping chamagne and just having a great time. One of her stops is a womens strip club where Ali G. plays the role of the DJ. The video near the end turns into a cartoon where Madonna starts kicking off all the signs of her famous songs like "Express Your Self", "Lucky Star", Borderline" and then she starts spinning the record and kicking the male cartoon character Ali G out of the booth. Her female friends also are animated and attack other characters who look like frankensteins. Madonna again demonstrates female power!! Then it goes back to Madonna non animated in the limo again. There is another version on this DVD where "Music" the songs stops for a pause and Madonna asks to put her music back on. I truely love this video and I highly recommend it. Its very entertaining to watch!!!"
Good DVD Single

"Good video for Madonna's new single 'Music.' The DVD might replace the CD but i'd get both of them. The concept for this DVD is excellent and quite inpressive and shows they put alot of time and effort in to it. The irresistable Ali G was also in the video (WestSide!!) and manages to squeeze all of his jokes into 4-5 minutes. There are no extras in this but if you are a real Madonna fan, it's a must-have! This DVD is excellent even though it's just the amazing length of 9m10s (9:10). There isn't even an audio mix (mixes) like there were for the What It Feels Like For A Girl DVD (Calderone, Richard Vission) but still the picture and sound quality is impressive. The first video (there are two) is the version without the dialogue (as far as i'm concerned that's the only notable difference!!) and last for 4.26. However, the second vid is the better. With the dialogue and more from Ali G, it is irresistable! It also features a weblink for any of you who have a DVD-Rom drive in your computer at home. (The video's play on a DVD Player). It's nice to watch two videos for Music instead of just one for the price (normally £6.99). Hopefully, in time, DVD single's will have a 'fashion' so they get to be charted just like CD singles! In atleast a few years time, this item should be a collectors item!
When Madonna released this DVD, it was presicely the 2nd DVD single to be released! (Another reason why you should get this) (BJork being the first to release a DVD Single). Here's a rough story line. Ali G is sitting in his car waiting to pick someone up (talks to himself). Note: Swearing is included. But little does he know it's Madonna and her girls (Backing girls!!). He is shocked to see her when she arrives. They then drive round town madly and turn the TV on. When they turn the TV on, Madonna is a cartoon character, trashing buildings with the names of her own songs on them! Still as a cartoon character, she then goes into a club when Ali G is the DJ. Madonna then 'Karate' kicks him and starts mixing the discs. Then you just see Ali G's head (nothing else) spinning past an earth! (Madonna is no longer a cartoon character). Ali G then does an impression of Madonna's 'Like A Virgin' and says he wants to be in her next single! (that would be 'Don't Tell Me'!). They then go in to a lap-dancing club.
Both video's included the lap-dancing. The DVD Single artwork is the same artwork as the UK CD Single (Part 1) and is beautiful. A great item to have in your Madonna collection!!"
