Many absolutely love this musical verses those that hate it due to a weak storyline and poor acting with horrible butchered singing attempts of classic Abba hits.

I was a little girl when ABBA came out, and I remember listening to my parents play the records. I couldn't wait to see this movie, and it didn't disappoint! I watched it using the "sing-a-long" feature that displays the lyrics on the bottom of the screen. Although my husband was grumpy at the start of the movie, he was singing to some of the songs near the end (we watched with another couple who had seen it already, and they couldn't wait to see it again). It is a fun movie to watch with a group of people who (preferably) like ABBA.

As a bonus, it is a real treat to see Meryl Streep and Pierce Bronson belting out these tunes!

This was just so much fun to watch. OK, we all know the singing in this film was never purported to be Broadway-quality, so it is enjoyable on its own terms. Meryl Streep seems to have been having the time of her life. The location is breathtakingly gorgeous. I watched the DVD three times in a row. A bonus feature includes a sing-along for most of the songs. You can even opt to have the sing-along embedded into the main viewing of the film. ABBA fans, add a star!!!
