Obiturized | New Hampshire | 09/06/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "Man, this is a very nicely done box set, much better than those volume sets, this is a 7 disc set, with 4 slipcases inside a nice outer box, that on the back says which episodes are on said disc, and what extras, and on the inside of the slipcases, you get another list of the episodes, but with original air-dates and what the episode is about, very nice.
Now I grew up on this show on the re-runs in the 1980's and 1990's, and I am amazed at the picture and sound quality of these discs, the picture is so crisp it looks like it was made yesterday, it's the same with the audio too, it's hard to realize this is over 50 years old when you watch it, amazing job. And another thing I've noticed with EVERY episode I've watched on these season sets, is that I'm seeing parts of scenes that I never saw on the re-runs, so yes, these are, indeed, UNCUT, I was very surprised with that. And with this set you get tons of extras on each disc, like original openings, and so forth, the discs are one sided, which is always a plus, if you're a big fan of the series like I am, you can't go wrong with the season sets, I have seasons 1, 2, 3, and 7, 8, 9 (which was released all in one set and is the 'The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour), soon to be getting season 4, seriously folks, this is the best we've ever seen Lucy." |
