Have enjoyed this series from beginning to end! I was disappointed when A & E dropped the series at season three, but ecstatic that it was picked up again by Netflix. It has one of the most amazing and diverse casts of any TV show I've seen, and I'd like to focus on them rather than the story arc. Australian actor, Robert Taylor plays the lead, Sheriff Walt Longmire. I'd never heard of him before this series, but can't imagine anyone else in the role. He played Agent Jones in The Matrix, and he also played Father Vincent Sheehan in Ballykissangel, a British television drama. You might remember Katee Sackhoff from her role as Lt. Kara Starbuck Thrace in Battlestar Galactica. In Longmire, she plays the lead female role, Deputy Victoria (Vic) Moretti. Lou Diamond Phillips plays Longmire's good friend, Henry Standing Bear. This is a good role for him, and he is a consumate good guy with strong moral compass. A Martinez plays the character of Jacob Nighthorse, casino owner, member of the tribal council, and antagonist to Longmire throughout most of the series due to Longmire's obcession. Zahn McClarnon is one of the interesting characters in series. He plays tribal Police Chief, Mathias. Often, because of juridictional issues, he either aids or conflicts with Longmire's investigations. Tantoo Cardinal is one of the most widely recognized Native Actress of her generation. Her character of Marilyn Yarlot has a recurring role in the series, but is central to the final season. Her character brings an understanding of how Native American's view the world that impinges upon them, at times her character appears hard-crusted and sassy, but hers is more to weigh in on other's intentions in the world before committing to offer help or support. Graham Green plays the bad guy who orchestrates some complicated evilness. Adam Bartley plays the likeable Sheriff's Deputy Archie "the Ferg" Ferguson. Cassidy Freeman plays Cady Longmire, the Sheriff's daughter. All in all, great cast. Well worth binge watching.
