A nice sci-fi CGI reboot of the original Omega Man. A real shame about Smith's downfall.

This movie was OK, but it is really just a big boom, and high speed remake of "The Omega Man".
I'm not saying the film was bad, just that the hype built it up to something that it had no chance of delivering on. I like the updates that they made to the story from the original, but it would have been nice if they put "Creature of the Wheel" by Rob Zombie (a song inspired by the original) on the soundtrack.
As far as recent post apocalyptic movies are concerned I would recommend "Book of Eli", but if you must watch this one, do yourself a favor and also watch "Omega Man" it might make you appreciate this movie more (or maybe less.)
Still Will Smith has a great performance, and so does the dog and those are really the only two characters in the story, the writing was also good, and so was the scenery, you really feel like you are in a post-apocalyptic world.

I really enjoyed this movie. It is not necessarily "scary" but it is suspenseful and keeps you on your toes wondering what will happen and what he will do next. I liked the fact also that there was little music. It really added to the "last man on earth" affect. The original ending was much better than the alternate ending(where Neville lives).

I was P.O'd when I got this. I posted my single disc edition on here then ordered this from Amazon for about $6 which ran $9 after shipping. I was prepared for what I thought would be a commentary track and a second disc full of making of featurettes and stuff. Guess what. The second disc is nothing but one of those digital copy disc. This had nothing that the single disc version doesn't have. What a BIG let down. Counting the postage I paid to mail my copy and the price I paid for this I'm out of $11 with no new features to show for my money.

This movie is intense, but that intensity never really goes anywhere. You sit there and breath hard but nothing really BANG! happens.
The only time I jumped was when my brother leaned over and went "BOO!" and grabbed me. So unless you are with a bunch of annoying relatives you won't get a scream out of this movie, although it might raise your blood pressure! :)
