Thought this would be great having Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in it. No such luck!

A sweet and sometimes silly movie that made me literally laugh out loud, more than once. A hidden gem.

I admit, it's not stellar. Even goofy and questionable at some points. But it has just enough cute that it rates a special, favored place in my library. :)

This is Hanks' second turn behind the camera (in addition to being in front of the camera as well), and he does well again. This is, in his words, a realistic romantic comedy. It's a slice of life, with real-world issues and genuine human emotions. I love many of the recurring actors and character names (Wilma Q. Gammelgaard, for one) as well as many of the new faces I hope to see much more often in future films. Sure, it's not on a par with "The Artist" or "The Descendants", but what is? This is a hopeful film. And, if you're hoping for a message on how to live life, I'd suggest a line from "The Big Chill": "It's art; you have to let it flow over you."

Ugh, this was a very average movie. It's just the story of Tom Hanks and how everything goes good for him. It's just so typical. Also, the sub-plot of Julia Roberts failing marrige felt SO FORCED and fake. I love Tom Hanks, but this was a fail.
