Must buy for Blues and Jazz guitarists

"I was blown away when I got a copy of Larry Carlton instructional DVD Vol.1. The concepts and techniques were really helpful in my playing. Vol 2 picks up where he left of with more improvisational ideas and tools for playing. Larry to me is the perfect role model for me as I love blues and jazz guitar styles. I'll get all of Larry's DVDs if there's any more I'd find!"
Disappointing follow-up to Vol 1

"As a professional touring guitarist and clinician, Larry Carlton has always been an inspiration. His Vol. 1 DVD (see my review) also proved that he has an ability to deliver very useful ideas in an easy to understand manner. So, I was excited to explore Vol. 2, and while it does offer some interesting ideas, it falls short of Vol. 1. That being said, it is certainly worth the investment, as I believe that if you can garner at least one really useful idea from an instructional video, it's valuable. But I was dissapointed given my enthusiasm for Vol. 1, and felt that this video was more about promoting Larry Carlton (he focusses a lot on his own music in the examples and often refers to himself in the third person) rather than really offering useful tips for guitarists to incorporate into their own repetoire. Still, I am happy to own it and one can pull ideas from it that go beyond his explanations--he's no doubt a great player."
Great follow up!

"This is a great follow up dvd to the first volume.....Carlton is an exceptional player and both of these dvds are invaluable to guitar players of all styles."
